Trunkwise in stories
The neighbourhood Lisa would like to offer her tools and her barbecue equipment with her neighbours. She creates a private Trunkwise trove and add the things she wants to offer. Then, she creates a community, offers to lend her things in the community, and invites her neighbours. Within an hour, Brian comes along and asks if he can borrow the barbecue, and invites Lisa to join for dinner by the pool in the apartment complex. The stable Zeb likes horseback riding. There is a lot of equipment that belongs to his horse stable. He creates a Trunkwise community, adds the equipment in the stable to the community trove, and invites the other riders.
The next day, Luke calls and wonders if he can borrow the stables cowboy hat helmet add-on for a competition. Of course he can, and Luke ends up winning the competition!
The family cottage Hannah and her siblings has a summer cottage on a remote island. Every year, there are a lot of questions of what is in the cottage, and what everyone needs to bring when they go there. This year, Hannah creates a Trunkwise community for the cottage. On her next visit, she adds all the relevant things in the cottage to the community, and then invites all of her siblings. They don't talk less before the next visits, but they can focus on what to do instead of what to bring. And, this year they don't buy a new pack of salt, just in case. At the hardware store Daniel has the memory of a goldfish, or a confused professor, as he frames it himself. Now he is at the hardware store, and there is a sale on high performance batteries, and he cannot remember the type of battery he has on his buzz saw!
No sweat! He pulls out Trunkwise where he has added all his tools (well, almost all of his things) where he has photos of all the sides of his batteries. The clerk helps him find a matching battery, and Daniel doesn't need to travel back and forth to make returns.
How it works

In Trunkwise, you keep track of your Things by capturing photos of them. You can take several photos, or Views, of the same Thing.

You keep your things in Troves, like "Apartment" or "Summer Cottage".

If you have things with others you create a Community, and Invite the others to the community.

You can Offer things from your troves and communities, to other communities. This way, you can capture things once, and then offer them everywhere. You can offer things as Lend, Give, Sell, Rent, or Swap.

Things can be kept inside other things. You can use this to keep things in their "natural hierarchy", like a book, in a bookshelf, in a room, in your apartment trove. You can also use the hierarchy to store things anyway you want, like a filesystem.

You can also Tag things, and Search among the tags.

On a greater scale...

The amazing global production system has created a lot of things that improve our living standards. It is super-easy to buy a new Thingy, on the web or in a store. But, it is hard to offer what you already have to the people around you, to improve their living standards.

It can also be really hard to know what is hiding in your troves at home, at your office, or in your community. It is easy to miss the opportunity, or buy a double for something you already have access to. You are actually missing out on increased living standard, or just wasting money.

At Trunkwise, we want to make it super-easy to give your things purpose by offering them to your friends, family, or communities. We believe we can make the world a better place by doing so. It really doesn't matter if you want to improve living standards, save the world, or save a buck; Trunkwise is for you.

Know your things Keep track of your things in the easiest way possible; using the camera and the natural hierarchy of things. Do it together Create communities and manage your things collectively. In your family, or your sports club. At your company, or any other organization. Apprize your organization By making clear what your community has to offer, you increase the value of the community as well as the things in the community. Offer your things You can offer your things to communities you are a member of. Make everyone richer without spending a dime.
